Just came across this site for cheap bulk shipping from the UK pallet2ship.co.uk. A pallet load of gear weighing aroung 500kg cost around $250. It is by sea though so will take at least 6 weeks, otherwise will cost you over $3000 by air an have it in 5 days. I think ill go the sea option. im thinking of getting a whole load of gear for my 16V MK2.

Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Just be aware that pallet shipping gives you absolutely no security. I know because I have worked on engineering projects and loose shipped pallets of goods have had bits go missing.
If possible look to see if you can get it shipped in something like a "pallecon" which is a small caged container that can be sealed, that is the same size as a pallet and can be locked and sealed.
There are other things to watch our for.
If shipped in a container with other pallets (more than likely), you can get caught up with what else is in the container. I have had issues where the person with the majority of the goods in the container wants the opening and customs clearance to be delayed, and you might want it straight away. You will have to wait, as once the seal in the container is broken, all goods in it have to be inspected and cleared.Last edited by wai; 21-07-2013, 10:40 PM.

You'd be better off getting together with a few people and shipping a whole container over.
I'm just waiting on a new Garage being built at my dad's house in UK so I've got somewhere to store stuff over there.
I'd be keen on getting some stuff shipped at around October/November if you want to start getting a list of people that are interested.MY13 Golf R - Rising Blue ** SOLD** New toy wanted

Yeah I have been doing alot of ringing around and email people and businesses regarding MK2 parts, but will be hard to organize unless you know someone over there to pack it. Most people couldnt be bothered packing it unless there making some decent cash out of it. ill keep you posted.
