Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Mk2 Washer bottle is leaking

Simple problem, the seal of the bottle where the motor is inserted are almost dissolved, most likely after 25 years.

Is that seal available to purchased separately ?

This is not my bottle but its the same.

I've been told these are the same as mk3. I'm not 100% sure though, might be worth to check out.

I'm pretty sure they are, I know I took a ibiza filler bottle after my mk2 plastic disintegrated... And simply pluged in the pump into the grommet.

Thanks hamza and Flea, I'll check Mk3 one, is there anyone wrecking a Mk3 atm ?

btw GAP has the grommet, but I don't have any other parts order plan now.
