I am looking for an ac evaporator for MKII for quite some time now and I cant seem to find it anywhere.. my car is an 89 year, right hand drive, 1.6TD golf. The part # of the evaporator I am looking for is 358 820 103, please let me know if any of you guys has a source for this.
Out of curiosity torch, what's wrong with your current Evap?
I didn't know it was a part that could break/deteriorate.
Its leaking.... they get old with age and leak... Two years ago when it first leaked I got the leak aluminum welded (whatever that is called) and now it has developed another very minor leak in a place where it cannot be welded, it takes almost a week for the air con to stop working.
I have been looking for a very long time now, almost two years and LHD ones are easy to get... UK cars are RHD but most MKIIs there never came with AC cuz of colder climate so not available there, that leaves Australia and South Africa where they have RHD cars and warmer climates so I am looking here now. Lets see how it goes.

I think as far as Australia is concerned, if Camden gti don't have it or know where to get it, no one else will. There's a couple of people who have wrecked mk2 on the forums here, maybe try putting up a WTB ad?
But definitely get in touch with Camden gti in Sydney.

If you have sent a query via Camden GTI's website there's a good chance they won't reply, its best to give them a call.
Yes... I sent the query via the Camden GTI's website and I did get a reply. The correspondence was very unpleasant. They are very rude, arrogant, unprofessional and uncurteous people. They are not interested in selling parts for older cars. If anyone wants I can forward them the emails I exchanged with them.
