Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

You might have disturbed the wiring on the back of the hazard switch.

hmmm yeah that makes sense...i did accidentally push out the hazard switch when i was fiddling around with a coat hanger trying to pull the speaker wires through....will try that...will just check if all is plugged into hazard switch.
      THANKS!!!see how it goes...

ok...just checked, hazard lights work fine... but no blinkers...the light to say that blinkers are working comes on (but its kinda on in a dull way all the time, but brightens when i put blinkers on) but doesnt make the click clack sound and blinkers dont come on??
I pulled out the hazard switch but cant see anything too weird (then again dont really know what to look for, but no loose wires that i can spot)

Try the blinkers fuse. But I`d still reckon on you having disturbed the switch wiring. Look at the back of the switch. Is there a spare connector when the plug is on and perhaps a spare wire behind it?

pulling wires through with a coat hanger is asking for trouble... I hope you disconected the battery!

No that light was not on before. Was it a metal coathanger, or a plastic coated one? Could be a dodgy earth if the light is dim. Or you could have shorted something with the damn coathanger.

What symbol is by the green light? Is it the full beam? Check your headlight switch wires.
