i was gonna save photo's and **** till after GAD but i don't think ill be making it anymore due to work, blows but ill be driving the thing down to DOVW!

well started swapping all the **** over yesterday, everything came off really easy.
found out that i am some kind of a special person because when i ordered all the parts i only ordered one blinker and one bumper clip (meant to have 4 )

here's some really high quality phone pics

one last shot of it being a big girl

then stripped it all down, its funny how much smaller the whole car looks with no bumpers or flares.

did a quick mock up of the rear bumper, super happy with the red stripe bumpers. decided to go with them as its a GTI and im losing the red stipe front grill. so it should tie in nicely

and here's a little teaser photo for the internets...

well i woke up this morning with a nice little surprise,
got the rest of the gear for the conversion!

im thinking for now im just gonna plastidip the front valance, as its supposed to have a rough finish and i don't wanna pay someone to paint it. or leave it black.

also made a phone call this morning to a local tyre shop and just asked if they could stretch my tyres on, told them the sizes and he said its gonna be a struggle but they can do it.
the front is mild but the rear should be nice

i am keen as a banana

soon it will not look so much like a poo bucket, hopefully.

Bought the wrong tyre... They won't stretch nicely. Glad to be proven wrong but the shoulder just rounds over

i know, but i couldn't argue with the price.
if they fit on the rim and clear my guards im happy.

i've looked at a few photos of them, i don't mind that sort of stretch. i think it will suit my wheels nicely.
my nankangs had that real square stretch, this will be nice and different i think

me either, tomorrow im going to finish the small bumpers hopefully,
i am also converting this to studs instead of using bolts.
and i've gotta ad some camber to the rear so i can runs these wheels without rubbing.

and i could be buying another car on the weekend...

a little re-cap of the weekend,

ended up getting my bumpers on and all sorted late saturday night, and had no time to wash the car (hasn't been washed in about 6 months) so i had no chance of having a nice weekend and this meant i was going to have to do the big trip all in one day.

i was pretty bummed though cause my wheel nuts didn't arrive in time and this meant i had to just run with my stockies. still didn't look that bad though

woke up bright and early at 3am and left from newcastle!

had the first real stop at goulburn, i was really happy with how the car was going. had no problems with overheating and sat nicely on about 120ish the whole way

a stopped at the big merino and got the same photo that i did with my black mk2 when i drove it home from vic.

i am so very pleased with the small bumpers, and the single headlight grill.
It all turned out exactly how i wanted it.

                              Now bring on Day Of!
