          Springs are different.

There two different sets of springs for a mk 3 - early and late. The spring hat's are different. IIRC the mk 2 has the same hats as the early mk 3 spring design. I do the whole unit (spring, matching spring hat, bearing, strut top, when matching) can be swapped into mk 2

they are good at the time i bought them because of the price.

but for this im going to be getting weitecs from the guy on here.
the ST's are chinese made, whereas the weitecs are german made and KW is their parent company.

so i finally got a chance to do some minor work to the mk2 tonight.

first i had to give it an oil change, i gave it a quick one when i first got it but it was with whatever i had laying around which was 10w40 i think. its way to viscous, i could her my tappets!
so i went and got some 20w50 and it only cost me $16.50! stoked! and while i was there i gave the engine bay bit of clean up

then i decided to put my nardi wheel on, so i pulled the wheel off and then the **** job of trying to get the outside spline off. this p.o.s just doesnt want to move, i went down to the shop and got a bearing splitter and used my dads puller, and i broke it. so tomorrow at work im going to make a little puller so i can get the stupid thing off!
this is where im up to:

and thanks to willwho for the 10mm spacers, ill fit them up soon and hopefully sell some cars to fund for lows

Also if anyone has a blank plate to fill that hole in my dash above the light switch that would be great!
