  • How many in Adelaide?

    Hey All,
I was just wondering how many Mk2's (of any variety) there were in Adelaide?

STOIE started a wiki page a while back trying to get an idea of how many are in Aus (think the wiki is down though)

From what (little) I've seen, Mk2's can be had for as little as $2-3k in ropey condition and go up to around $6k.

I picked up mine for mid $4k and would describe it as being in reasonable original condition given that its got over 293k on the clock. Engine was rebuilt about 3000 kms ago though.

Their prices very from time to time, currently there is about 6 ish? for sale so you can shop around and haggle to obtain a well kept mk2 for a decent price. This is what i have experienced...

I picked up mine for 2k + transport, rego ect. so it cost me 3k for a '90 manual with 160kms.

                  also +1

                  no idea who's it is...
(i tried to zoom in as much to not give away their locations...)

Thats 6 Mk2's in SA, wow

yes, on road for 3kish, it has its flaws but i would say it's condition 8 on a scale of 0-10.

then again opts been on stands for the last two weeks as it needs clutch work..

                        I had a Oz Mk2 GTI.
I sold it to a bloke that works in the city.
Here is an old picture of it....

Took the GTI for a run through the hills to Lobethal on Saturday afternoon. Didnt see any other Mk2's out unfortunately.
The car handled brilliantly but I was a little surprised at just how slow the thing is!

yep that was my feeling as well, also my is a bit floppy in the corners, could definitely do with some stiffer springs, as soon as i get mine going we should go for a run, or try to gather as many mk2's and do a run together. I believe its the only place the car shines, the streets are don't suit it...

Also if you see a ae82 4age corolla, don't bother trying to race with him, those things are bloody nimble!

Yeah, we should get a few together and do a run somewhere.

Are you installing coilovers in yours?

Is there a specific ae82 I should be watching out for, or should they all be avoided?
