  • Window scrapers for Mk2 - where can I get them from?

    Hi All,

I'm experiencing the standard problem of shrunk window scrapers on my GTI and I haven't had any luck finding replacements. I've searched on Ebay and have also checked GAP and a number of other leads that others have posted in this forum with no luck.

Does anyone know where I can get a couple of scrapers from?

    Cheers,
    Goudgey

There was a guy on eBay from mexico.. I along with numerous other people on here bought them. They come longer, so cut to the length you want, theyre easy to fit, and I havent had any troubles after about a years use...
If he doesn't have any, Well.......

Stiggy, I've tried that guy from Mexico and he doesn't currently have any listed on eBay.

I'm hoping there's someone out there than can give me a link to a supplier of new OEM scrapers......although I'm not holding my breath!

On the off-chance that new scrapers aren't available, has anyone come up with any other fixes that I should consider?

I think they were discontinued as an OEM part..
Keep an eye on te eBay guy, he's bound to have them pop up in the near future.
Seeing as china is still making the mk2 jetta, I'm sure they'll have crappy scrappers for sale..
Other options are, go to/contact a wreckers and see if they've got ones in good condition

The eBay guy from Mexico has scrapers in stock again. Not OEM items but according to the product description they're pretty good. I've ordered a pair and will report back on their quality.

They should be fine, however unless you replace the whole window seal, be prepared to life with the size difference, here is how it looks in my car,

I'm more than happy with a size difference if it prevents my doors from rotting.

There should be instructions included which show how to trim the new scapers to match your old ones, there was with mine.

I contacted Spectrum Rubber who supply Clark Rubber. They have them in stock but are very expensive.
Go into Clark Rubber to get the part number and then contact Spectrum.
