speedo cable mk2

hi folks, i'm looking for a speedo cable for my golf mk2 - recently inherited - would be grateful for any advice cheers, rodney

Hey mate,

Cost me $79-$99 (cant quite remember ) for the cable and a good 2 hours to take out the old one and put in the new.

The trickiest bit is fiddling around in the dash to connect the new cable.
Actually found it easier to get my wife to push through the cable from the engine side.

I'm sure you'll be able to source a cable from your local vw dealer without a fuss.

Its always good to have another mk2 on here

you would be amazed ay the amount of mk2 speedo cables that have broken in the last 6 months, its like they reach a use by date & pack it in all of a sudden

where abouts are you situated mate
