Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    All the modcons...

    Hey all,

    Being a bit of a gadget geek, I sometimes get a bit jealous of perks the newer cars out there get.

    You know, the:
    • cruise control
    • auto wipers
    • auto headlights
    • remote boot
    • head up display
    • satnav
    • rear camera
    • etc




    I've fit keyless already, which was a cinch to fit. Got this one here. Took no more than half an hour to fit and pays off every time my hands are full of groceries...

    Just wondering what else people have added and whether they reckon it's made their life any better. Oh, and does it look stock(ish) or stand out like a sore thumb?

    Headlight relay upgrade has been the best for me so far
    MK2 - *Insert list of dealer purchased extra's/standard features here*
    80 series - The MK2's BIG, Sooty, polar opposite...
    HAHAHA

      Headlight relay is great. It's better than some modern cars.

      MK2's came with factory cruise control. I'm sure you could retrofit it if you tried

        Wire up a head light warning buzzer is a good add on for a Mk2, who Mk2er has forgot turn off their head light in day time ?

        Install a Headlight Reminder Buzzer
