does anyone know of a paint to retexture the arches????
there is some stuff called spray putty - as i understand it - used for filling that sort of texture - was going to try it on my vr6 arches but never got around to doing it. still have the can - think i got it from kmart but sure any other auto shop will have it

My mate skinny is a panel beater and I was talking to him about this very same issue the other day as sometime in the near future I am guna respray the mk1, but want to keep the textured effect on the arches but still paint them black, anyways he said if you go to a body shop and ask them they can use a product that gives a result your after, he warns tho that it will be hard to emulate the exact texture but it is pretty close. He does resto's on old cars so uses the product occasionally. Its simply called bumper paint or the like and produces a mottled type of effect in the paint. They'lll know what your'e on about... Alternetavely you could use an underbody deadener or chip guard type of spray, might not look right tho... Bit long winded but hope it helps

In my opinion those wheels look strange and you have ruined a good wheel arch.
What is the purpose of having such wide rims anyway??

Love em mate. Good work, you brought a dead car back from the grave and gave it some style. Where did you get the outer lips and bolts from? I'd like to redo mine at some point.
