yeah golwise is right about the intrusion bars, as for saving weight,.. every little bit counts, and i was planning to use it as a track car when i finished, but never got to see the track ever. so yeah didnt really matter anyway, but tell me is 840 with a full tank seem like a reasonable weight for a 2 door? was done on weigh bridge with driver to, so take off 70kg for me. is any one got there dub this light or is mine considered heavy?

Yes it was, its now written off. It's not origional but was stripped right down and all the parts bought new when you could get them. It had golf 2 seats and trims, a factory sunroof, a 1.8 k-jet gti motor and 5 speed box.
