Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Front washers help!!!

    Hi guys,
Front washers for the wipers aren't working.
I tested the pump.. it works fine.
Cleaned all connecting points on the pump and the interior wiper stalk...
    And it still doesn't work!!!

Note: front and rear wipers and rear washer pump works fine

Check the piping and see if you can locate a non-return valve. It has probably failed and so the pump cannot overcome the loss.

i am thinking there's a break in the electrical circuit somewhere??
when i flick the stalk to put the washers on... nothing happens,
but if i hard wire it to the battery.. it works perfectly

It could be a break in the line.
My licence plate light has been out for a year and it ended up being a cable that had rubbed right through and snapped.
Have a poke around for a broken electrical cable. Also check your fuse? I guess you done that already.
