  • g60 flares on a 5 door

I am wanting a set of g60 flares for my mk2 and have found a set on tm tuning. They say the back two only fit onto 3 door models obviously because of the piece that comes forward (see pic below)

Does anyone know if you can mod them without them looking rubbish? or will i have to stick with just the front two?

the tmtuning site is wrong in saying that. they'll fit properly on a 4door. i had a read on vwvortex, one dude said "all MK2 fenders are universal between two and four doors."

if you look at that flare on the left of the pic, that hasto be a rear flare and that piece sticking forward will go straight through the path of the rear door.

Dont believe all you read on Vortex. A lot of misinformation on there and some little gems.

Checked on ETKA and it looks to me like there is only one kind of G60 arch which fits 2 and 4 door. the part number ends in D for front and back.

            Spot on h100vw.

From my very limited mk2 knowledge & background, I reckon you could leave the standard rear wheel arch trim's on & just fit the front G60 arches.

There's not that much difference in the back one's. It's the front's you want if your going looooow!

Even then it's not just fit the arches & belly ache it. You've go to mod the panel's themselve's & remove the inner wheel arch trim's & so on.

yes I have g60 arches all round on my 2 door and they would easily fit a 4 door, only the side strips are different for obvious reasons.

Sorry static! I'm going to jack your thread ! jus a lil . . . . jus to save creating another on the same topic . . .

How much wider are the rear flares of the G60 kit as apose to the standard flares?? 1cm? 2cm? Would it be possible to adapt the front flares to the rear arch?? i'm assuming I could?? . . . thanks . . .

You could adapt them if youwant killz, actually read of vortex lastnight someone did it. massive job though and you have to cut, heat and remould them in to the skirt line. His came out nice because he painted them, if you kept them black all the cuts would show.

the rears arent that much wider at all thats why i built my custom ones to run wide rear wheel, alas i never put them on my car and are off to some lucky fellas home

i believe the rears do fit on 4 doors
