That's actually a good price, find a good clean mk2 in the uk your still looking at 4 to 5k plus the importing and it has air, I've only seen that on a handfull of cars here,

I know of a restored g60 which sold for 9.5k, good luck with the sale, you never know I might end up going down that route myself, lol
Don't know where I'm going but I do know where I've been

Noooooooooo!! U can't put bags and a 1.8t in a genuine 16v, it's too good to f*$% with. Preserve the valvers!!!

Totally agree with you. This is not a car to butcher with a cliche 1.8T swap!

This car is on its way to Darwin Don't worry guys I will be keeping it 100% stock. Might get some RSs - although I quite like the RAs - for it further along the track and maybe some lowering springs, but that's about it

As great as it looks in the pictures, it's even better in the flesh - thanks for taking such great care of her Simon!

Nice work mate, very jealous though

Will this also be the most northerly MK2 in Australia?

Most likely mate, yeah The euro car scene here is pretty much non-existent (probably around 90% of the cars on the roads are Toyota Hilux's, haha), although I spotted a nice mk1 Golf once! Even my e30 (which you'd think, generally, is a bit more common) gets frequent stares/thumbs up, etc. from random people... I must say the lack of traffic and suprisingly good roads in the Territory/Darwin area are a perfect environment for these kind of cars

Can't wait for this car to arrive! (Currently in transport)

Not too bad actually, especially around Darwin, wide 2-3 lane roads with up to 100km/h speed limits on some roads around town, a lot of new or renovated roads, still a lot of road projects underway. You get some pot holes from time to time, especially after the heavy rain during the wet season, but the local road authority are pretty quick to fix them when they appear. Most importantly though the traffic is very light to say the least (a lot of the roads seem overdesigned for the amount of traffic they get). Cars (especially with manual gearboxes) don't get as abused here as a result... + 130km/h speed limit on the Stuart Hwy past Palmerston towards Kakadu/Litchfield National Parks, which makes it a nice weekend drive

Other than 'Das Auto' and obviously Volkswagen that's as much of the German language as I know, haha

Very nice! Never been a huge fan of the small bumpers but I'm really starting to like that look now - the car looks somewhat lighter. The wheels are mint - very nice
