    60 kmh isn't cruising, that's walking!

In the UK my mk3 16V would maintain 30mpg at 100MPH and do over 40 if you stuck to 70 MPH.

The G60 Passat though was another, sad, story. That would cost me 75 quid to fill up (75 litres) and go about 500 Kms.

My Ibiza GTI does 500Ks on dollars worth of ultimate, usually low 8s through town. Not often I get a run anywhere else.

I can manage 6L/100 down the freeway on 110, that is running shell 98. All of a sudden it has jumped up though to around 7.2

6l sounds familiar in the good old days. i cruise around 110 - 130 and as best as i can get is 7.9. long gone are the days of 6

I wonder if it is the oxy sensor, personally i dont want to dump $50 into something that will make no difference, maybe it is just best to cop the fuel usage on the chin. Oh and i only ever run my car on premium also, its hopeless on regular unleaded.
