  • Recommend a car importer, going from the uk to Sydney

Lap top committed suicide and I've lost all the links I had,

firstly, sorry if this is in the wrong section

If you have had personal experience with a company who can transport my mk2 please recommend it

not planning to go for a while but might as well get the ball rolling
Don't know where I'm going but I do know where I've been

Car Shipping by Karman Shipping Ltd. • Free Quotes Available ... my Corrado came in a sole use 20ft container with them, you're allowed personal effects in your car too, not the cheapest but your car won't get damaged doing like that..

On a serious note mate, bring in some mk2 parts from the uk and you can make some money. Dashboards without cracks are essentially non existent here, 25 quid in the uk probably worth 5 to 10 times that here. Bumpers (big and small) are also very expensive here.....3 to 5 times what you pay new in the uk.....stuff that container......

Haha, that's why i want one! Know anyone moving out here who can bring one?!! Yeah i sold the Corrado nearly a year ago now.

So when you move out here are you planning on bringing alot of stuff, like the furniture etc? Cos if you are you might be better off getting your own container dropped at your house to fill up with contents of your house and car etc, oh and a Rallye!

Looking forward to seeing your Mk 2 over, it's looking amazing

Should be over in November once I've tied some loose ends up and as for the car, well I can't drive is as a daily, spec sheet is massive now and I'd like (if it's ever possible) to finish it of here before leaving, still got carbon work to finnish, boot to redo and playing with air now as I like it low but even the standard mk3 I have in Sydney blo0dy grounds there which is insane , I need 4x4 mode at a touch of a button just to keep mine in 1 peice and without it looking like some one as kicked it in the cojones,,,,,,,,,

Once it's done (about 3 months) I'll post pictures of it and the shows I plan to attend this year, just to remind me what I'll be missing.

Dame it, we'll just have to start a new 1 up when I get there

I'd suggest getting some cheap vinyl to cover your panels. I wish I did on mine.. They chewed the crap out of my plastics and a few dents in the panel work. Remember, RORO is car only. If you want to ship extra stuff (If you're emmigrating, get a full container and stuff it full! I wish I did it this way. =( )

Hello there! Listen to the other posts... Do not put it on RoRo! I bought my Mk 2 Tdi out after we emmigrated along with a few other parts and tools.. There's no cheep way of doing it (roro is cheeper but u will suffer damage). Make sure you put it in the container yourself... I was stung an extra $500 for 'cleaning' because I made the mistake of entrusting the loading to a company east of London. The annoying thing was that once I had the car home here I managed to get a further bucket of Herefordshire's finest red clay and 3 oak tree seeds from under it (which I incinerated in a drum)! If u decide to bring parts let us all know!! Dash tops, door handles, big and small bumpers, GTD/Gti door and wheel trims.... the list goes on! Good luck! Where are you headed once here?? Simon.
