  • Replacing Rear Brake Disc

My Golf has come to the stage were the rear rotors need replacing.

I'm able to pick up some DBA rotors at a good price but would welcome any opinions as to wether I may be better to go with OEM rotors or another aftermarket brand.

They're 226mm solid discs, I'm looking to run QFM pads (front and rear) if GSL rallysport stock any.

Any suggestions or input is welcome

    Thanks

Most important thing is do you have the special tool to wind in the rear calipers. You can do nothing without it.

Bugger! How'd I over look that!
Will have to go around to a few tool places and try and find a kit with an attachment to suit VW.

Havn't yet, just waiting on pads from GSL (already have the rotors and wheel bearing kit's).
Going to get creative and modify a normal piston compressor tool to have a fitting on the end that will 'plug' into dimples in the piston.

Matt's right, you can't do much without it.

I got a "Stanley" piston tool from supercheap. It looks like an escher painting. It's a hollow cube with noggin on each edge. I used it for my MK5 but I had to file 2 off to make it work. Cost me $15.
