momo steering wheel

went to go fit in my momo team steering wheel in...and the boss kit is wrong.

i think i've worked out why...but some feedback would be great.

the spline size changed in august 1988 from 17mm to 26mm.

my car is an 88...and i bought the 17mm...turns out i need a 26mm.

question is...does anyone with a post august 88 mk2 have a momo boss kit on...and if so, is it part no MO-8014?

mate i know that mo-8014 fits for mk3's and im quite sure the box says 88-99 golf ??? but double check this as this was a while ago i looked.
