MK2 Wings Small/Big Bumpers

Are the wings/fenders/guards what ever you want to call them, the same on a small and large bumper?

The wings are the same but the bumper brackets are different. Also big bumper models don't have a slam panel iirc , just a bar between the wings.

Pre 87 wings only have one hole so will only hold the earlier smaller bracket. Easy fix by just drilling the second hole though.

I got the post 87 wings, but I need to get them back onto small bumpers. Not really digging the big bumpers with the quarter windows!

Yep you can put the small ones on fine you just need the little round slider bracket and use one of the holes on the later fender (one of them is in the correct place).

Do you have the metal slam panel to go accross?

and the plastic grille insert that fits in it.

Oh yea, and if you have the later front tow hitch you'll need to cut a chunk out of that lower grille insert to fit around it..

I think I may have one of those lower metal slam panels that go below the small bumper if you need one..
