Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Radiator Pipe

Can't seem to find this pipe on any online store/service so thought it may be an idea to ask here. I have never seen such a complex cooling pipe setup

This is the pipe that I'm reffering too, it runs from the Water Pump, to the Flange in the Cylinder Head with a little pipe 'branching' off to the oil cooler to allow the return of coolant that has had heat transferred to it from the oil cooler.

I've seen nothing similar on GAP for MK2 (16V, 8V, and even MK3).
The eninge in my car is a 2E but it has all the MK2 running gear/parts on it (to my knowledge).

May have to see Golf Loon about it as I may be coming down to Sydney in the next few months.
Any help/input would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks.

Had a flick through that and not much luck, will keep looking though.
But I did get the part number off the hose (was very very hard)
      037121053G

The hose in my car isn't in dire condition, but if it were to break in the middle of nowhere, the the chance of a wrecker/dealer having a pipe even remotely similar would be minute.

You will be able to get that pipe from a dealer, just give them the number.

Thanks Walshy, will have a scrounge around both those sites.
But the main poblem I'm having is finding a pipe with 2 90 degree bends (as illustrated by this dodgy pic below)

Alot of the pipes dont have the final 90 bend to go towards the coolant flange on the engine head. And if they do, then they dont have the little return pipe for the oil cooler
But its early days, I'm sure Ill find somthing.
