PCV Valve

1990 aussie 8v gti.

Can anyone tell me what's inside the PCV valve? My hose leading into it perished; when replacing the hose I removed the PCV valve and it's full of gunked up oil. I wanted to flush it out but I assume it's got some kind of filter in it?

These seem expensive to replace but don't look that substantial?

Just hit it with some throttle/carby cleaner to get all gunk out.

yep, almond is on the money there.

they control the idel I believe. (well part of it, so if your idle is all funky, this could help solve it!)
