after alot of machining on the manifold i finally got it to fit to the engine and when i went to put the downpipe on it didnt fit it just hit the steering rack so tommorow the car will be sent off to the exhaust shop to make a custom downpipe

    how upsetting.

I'm pretty sure this is the manifold of choice for people with lhd cars like the states and germany. apparently nigh on close to extractors. except they have no issue with rack clearance. custom/imported downpipe is the only way it seems

yeh the manifold was a diaster too lucky $200 of machining got it to fit but the downpipe has no chance of fitting.

mk4 exhaust manifold? Is it bigger than a mk3 exhaust manifold?

well the flanges are the same size but the flange on the engine side has like a piece of bar going accross so the inlet manifold doesnt let it go onto the studs

i had to get the catylytic converter flange changed and the angle of the cat had to be changed as the downpipe points upward for some reason oh and by the way if u happen to decide to do it make sure u dont cut the shock absorber thingos on the side of the downpipe my number one mistake i ended up having to reweld them on and that cost me $130

I would say if anyone else is planing on doing this mod, it would be alot more cost effective to just buy extractors lol.
