Are RA's really that hard to find in Aus?

              They are everywhere in ireland!

Is it the 14" or 15" version you are talking about?

              14"s

              15"s

After missing out the those RS's, I picked up a set of RA's right here in Melbourne. 7J 15's. Funnily enough, I'll be getting centre caps when I get back to Ireland later this week.

As I've been shopping around here and Ebay UK, there do seem to be more RM's and RS's on the market than RA's.

I'm loving the polished lips on those 15's! How much does that kind of procedure cost (in OZ)?

Pop over to vagdrivers.net. we are fairly big considering the population of Ireland!

Polishing is handy enough, take your time and do it yourself.

Start off with some heavy grade sand paper(180 grit) and work your way up to 2000 grit wet and dry paper. I'd normally use some light oil like wd40 as a lub instead of water.

I'd finish of with some metal polish like Autosol.

I've polished quiet a few sets of alloys now and it gets easier the more you do!

Remember, the wheels must get worse before they get better!

RA's are dope, and after seeing them on that g60 out at Camden GTIs workshop they are just like RS's look good on any car, providing that they made them in bigger sizes lol.

many things that we take for granted back in the uk and ireland are really really really (if not impossible) to find locally here in Oz.

You got to remember the 250 mk2 GTI's VW sold out here in the 90's did not come with RA's so these common wheels to us back back are rare as here in Oz

matt at camden gti was telling me that people in the uk just used to throw RA's out as they had so many. They should of sent them to aus instead so we wouldn't be in this situation

I'd be interested in these too!

In the meantime, the RA's are on and looking sweet. I'll pop up some pics later today.
