  • Potential RS's for my Mk2

    Hey all,

Just had the opportunity to get a set of BBS RS033 15x6.5 et34 sent over . Car is at stock height at the moment, so would it be a waste of time to get these without lowering the car at the same time? Also, what kind of rubber would these need?

The alternative I'm thinking of is getting a set of BBS RA's, as I've seen a few Mk2's running these at what seems to be standard height.

What do you lot think? I'd appreciate your opinions!

    Cheers!

    What stud pattern are they??

If they're 4x100 they'll fit nicely, RA's are the same size at 15x6.5, so they look good too.

I'd get the RS and lower it at a later date, they'll still look the biz at stock height..

195/50/15 or 195/45/15 (lower profile) would work well...

Yeah, they're 4x100 and never drilled.

They look in reasonable condition. Here are a couple pics.

what G60 said... you dont want to go too skinny of a tyre as it would look to skinny under the mk2 guards, id personally go a 185/45 on a 6.5 wide nankang makes that size in a NS2, also id get petter quality pics of the lips and centers, they looks pretty scratched up and looks like the clearcoat is also lifting

        cheers

Yea I wouldn't worry too much about it being stock height, it'll still look reasonable, although I reckon with say 40mm drop (just springs) it'd probably look alot better. A 195/45 or 185/45 is the tyre of choice, imo.

Cheers guys. All this is really appreciated. Getting more pics sent before closing the deal.

Tyre choice sorted! And I'll think about dropping it over time.

Thanks again, and I'll keep ye updated.

MK2 I feel need 16" - but that is my personal opinion. I just think that the 15" rim gets 'lost' as there is so much space in the guard.

Yeah 16's do look better, or even 17s, but theres quite a price difference!!

                        Thanks for all the advice.

I wasn't convinced by their condition, so didn't go for them in the end. Still looking, but bargains are few and far between.

These will cost 1500 landed - BBS RM polished 4x100 (not RS OZ) Bmw mk1 mk2 split on eBay (end time 18-Jul-10 19:10:17 BST)

                        Haven't decided on 15's or 16's though.

Hehe. Well, as Velly always says, RS's are kind of scene queen wheels. Still, they're damn nice.

                            I was considering these:
Genuine VW Golf Corrado G60 15 inch Steel Wheels NEW on eBay (end time 23-Jul-10 10:20:39 BST)

They seem a little rare over here, but they're not as sharp.

i do love BBS splits (RMs and RSs) but thay are just a paint to keep clean!!!
