Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • Oil Filters!!! Where to Buy?

I've been searching and searching for suppliers that may stock reccomended oil filters for my MK2 GTI.
But I can not find ONE supplier for Mahle oil filters.
All of you seem to be purchasing Mahle filters with no problem at all, whats the secret?

My questios is where can I buy Mahle oil filters for my MK2 Golf GTI?
The oil filter that came on the car (OC 264) was replaced within 2 weeks of buying it, and it was replaced with a OC 47, that the previous owner supplied me with.

I am yet to find either of these filters online.
I'm really quite annoyed with myself for not being able to find either filter
Sorry if this is a common knowledge question amongst other VW enthusiasts, but I can't think of anybody else to ask.

    Thanks

Yep HSY (I work at the Perth branch). Any branch will have loads of them, but you should still be able to get them from your mechanic at a good price though...

I get mine from VW, they're not that expensive! and the original ones have a spring valve inside them that helps the hydraulic tappets work better.

            +1
Just order pack of 10 if you plan to keep the car for long.
