  • Introducing Almond's Mk2 GTI

Posted my intro in the Newb corner, now that I have some pics thought I'd put them in the right spot. This is my new Mk2 GTI and today I finally got around to giving it a good wash, spent waaaaaay too many hours blackening those bumpers, but it looks much better than the grey they were this morning.

Just planing on keeping it original as possible thankfully it's in pretty good nick considering it's age.

    Looking sweet! Nice work.

Good job on the bumpers too, did you use wd-40 for that?

Ahhh good to see another one still in good condition out there.
I bought mine recently from your area of QLD.... they seem to be breeding down there

Sorry for being a little rude but how many things don't work on it (eg A/C , heater, dash lights).
In my opinion the problems give the car its own little attitude and fixing them is a great way to get to learn about your car.

As for the bumpers, I can agree, they're never black or shiny enough

      Is this your first VW?

Enjoy it, there great little cars.

No WD40, used a product called Forever Black which is a plastic dye. It looks good at the moment interested to see how it holds up though.

Heater is really weak, no lights behind the A/C, it takes 2 goes to get into 5th gear!
