Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

          Smaller wheels with more width.

And a slim line plate at the front.

yup lowering until there is NO tyre gap would really make that car look awesome

i like the slim plate idea as for the lowering i still want the car to be driveable with a car load in it

Somtimes I wish I had just that one extra inch of ground clearance.
Id imagine yours would end up looking similar to mine (?) with the lower suspension

Picture doesn't show it the best, but my front wheels are almost kissing the outer guard (Height wise) less than an inch
But my rear wheels definanly sit with in the guard.

I have no problems with driveability with a full car, except you can certainly feel a loaded car with no power steering

well, had the chip changed last night and it didnt work so got my standard one back in. But Simon has copied my chip so cach up with him to run you off a copy of my chip for you to try.

no i would go any lower, you need to have some movement!

Nope, no scraping around corners cause the tyre sits just under the lowest point under the outer guard (with both front wheels)
Mind you its got pretty compact/stiff springs with bugger all suspension travel!
The front skirt will scrape on pretty much anything though if your going faster than a snails pace (down/up a hill).
