Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Call Mick Sammut @ Straightline Performance in Sydney on 02 9670 6300 or 0419 906 300

You should be able to get a new set fabricated by him for around $350 delivered to your door!!

easier and cheaper again, would be to get a dual down pipe set up off a mk 3 2L. much better than standard, shouldn't set you back more than 100 bucks and has a 2 1/4 outlet at the bottom, noticeable bum dyno results too. revs & breathes much free-er.

$350 for a custom set is dirt cheap though it wouldn't be stainless or mandrel bent for that price surely... Another option is ebay motors usa, you would be suprised with what you can pay for a set of stainless polished extractors but if its just power you are after Jarred is on the money with the mk3 dual downpipe set, they breath very well and most extractors are only slighty better than the dual downpipe setup.

you need the exhaust manfiold and down pipe, and if you can up to the cat as well. Cat is huge so probs will be hard to fit on the mk 2.

just use a cat out of a seat or a vr6 metal cat which should be more free flowing too, or just decat pipe
