Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    hey guys
ive recently bought some kr cams but want to check to see if they are actualy kr cams, how can i tell this?? is there any part numbers to reference on the cams? only reason im worried is the head has the same part number as my 9a head :S
numbers i found on the cams are
    3b0278e
    and
    7c027wwo5d

    any ideas??

I am pretty sure the head is the same, just the inlet cam that is different between the KR and 9A. Those are not VW part numbers you have quoted.

If you have both sets of cams, then you could maybe measure them and see the differences. Pretty sure the 9A inlet has less lift than the KR so that would show up.
