  • Ronal R10's on a Mk2

    Hey guys,

Been doing a little browsing and found these:

    RONAL R10 TUBRO 15x7 , 4x100 , +28. As new. - Bmw Forum

Are these suitable? Are they a bit too pricey? Have you guys any decent pics of these on a Mk2? I've seen a few not so good shot via Google images, including these (albeit on a Mk1)

I'm looking for BBS's too, but these might mix it up a little.

Also, this will be the first time I've deviated from stock rims on a car, so do I have to consider stuff like speedo calibration or anything like that?

    Thanks in advance!

They are absolutely hot wheels. If oyu like them enough and can afford them they are worth the money.

If you understand "wheels aren't all created equal", yes they are round but Ronal,BBS etc are another niche above, hence the price. Have a look at the Mk2 picture thread, no doubt there will be heaps in there with them, though not in Australia

Thanks for that lex! Great resource.

2K is a bit pricey, but he says he's negotiable so I might be able to get it down a bit. Still, I'll probably have to lower the car too to have them sit right. That's something I'm a little hesitant to do.

I agree with you though schoona, they're a cut above. Some thinking to do...

that dude is selling them on this forum too..

i reckon they probs suit mk 1's better than mk 2's, but never the less are a pretty cool, pretty 80's wheels.

            I wouldn't pay 2K for em. If i payed 2K for a set of wheels, they'd be phatter!(and BBS RS's lol)

frankly, if you dont lower the car, it'll look silly, and would probably look better with the standard wheels if you keep standard height. (imho)

these wheels are mint on a mk2, i have a photo of a grey one with them on (i will find it later one)
these rims are in the top 5 rims for a mk2 for me.
i agree they wont give the massive phattness that 8"+ BBS's will but it depends if you want to be a scene queen or not.

I have been looking at getting a set of these and run them with wheel spacers but i am still looking at the bigger picture and running a VR so 5 stud will be for me

Hmmm... all good advice. I'll have to just see want sits with me best over the next bit. I'll also chat to Volkswerk or Volkspower about lowering etc (it's tough enough getting the car in and out of the driveway at standard height!!). Thanks everyone!

There is an ebay shop on Ebaymotors, that is selling them in a few different specs for $us895
Does anyone know what size brakes you can shove under the front?

If you are in the market for something new it is hard to go past the tire rack
I have been pricing OZ wheels of late & they(tire rack) are well under less than half the price I can get here

I know what you mean. Mines not lowered excessively, but still on some steep/short drives I can scrap the lower front lip if I go straight on
