    • GADs not on boys sorry, in the end it's time thats killed me, I'm waiting on 1 sticker thats in the post which would have made the blue slip a walk in the park, it'll be here by friday but there is no way i'll be able to get the car passed and then rebuilt ready for sunday,

I still need to collect the plates as well which would mean working on the car until the early hours of sunday then having a shower and straight out the door for it's maiden run. If I arrived at canberra and I wasn't happy with the way it looked it would have killed me.

I'll keep updates as to how I get on but I think I have a better chance of winning the lotto to be frank

      • That's a bit of a shame mate, however there is still DOVW in Vic that a few interstaters come down for yearly

                  • First chance I've had to get on here since GAD, It's was great to meet so many of you and felt quite weird having people come up to me and say it was great to see that I had made it.

Loved how the show was set up, man I want and old Porsche, any one want a swap one for the golf

Drive down was was fun, drive back was a blast to say the least, I just need to go to more events and meet more of you guys so I'll trawl through the meet section and see what's coming up.

It really is good to have it back on the road,Matt at Camden has a big part to play in it, he let me work on the car at his place to prep it and held my hand throught the trauma that is red tape but last night the sat nav directed me on to some backs streets to go home and it really made all the effort worth while, you know when you have a mk2 when all you want to do it rag it to death then go out side for more fun,,,,,,,end off

                    bring on the next meet

                      • Was it static at the GAD meet? Pics i've seen it wasn't as slammed as usual

Love the fact that you feel the need to rag the car, no show pony here.

I couldn't believe it when I found out that paint was 7 years old! Amazing.

                            • Thanks guys and all I'll done to the paint is maintain it with Kleen Freaks products, they have asked me to try and see if there's a market for it here but I'm still in 2 minds as to whether there is. On the day all I done was quick detail it when I arrived.

All I ever do to the car to maintain it is snow foam, jetwash then wash by hand and dry. I genuinely hate washing the car so, it's to much effort

what I can tell you is that for me its better than a lot of the maguirs stuff I've used in the past and at half the price, one of you out there has an audi A3 (terrible with names, sorry)and I'd love to get my hands on it and work on one panel just to prove how easy it is to do,

and as for the driving, Alex sent me a text yesterday which had me in stitches, it went as follows,

one of the boys from work saw the car when I picked it up. he was driving home from Camberra and said he was almost blown of the road by said black decked golf with a few others in toe at rather hefty speed might I ad, ( I was chasing an R32).

As for the low's, no it wasn't as low as normal, I've taken of the 165's and replaced them with 195's so now I have 3 sets of part worn 165 40 16's if anyone wants any
