Also check around the heater control panel and stereo. Mine squeaks like buggery there.-1990 Mk2 GTI 5-door with AMK 20vt (260hp @ wheels)

Check the nuts holding the dash to the bulkhead are tight. Mine aren't in and it used to squeak like a mofo!!

Teflon spray works for me , Check to make sure everything is tight , then spray teflon spray ( ezy glide) under the dash. It will still allow things to move without the sound.
If that doesn't work use a mouse trap or ratsakComment
