        I got a Hazet 120mm long triple square bit 12mm labelled 12SLg

You can get it from http://www.europeantools.com.au/ and it cost me about $70. I think they are located up your way. You can get other cheaper brands but you would want something to handle the torque when you tighten it up to 60NM

Is it not M10 or M12 spline?

I have set like this and the right size is in there. As well as the 6mm allen key you need fo rthe inlet manifold bolts.

The exhaust maifold nuts are the worst. It might be easier to disconnect the downpipe from the manifold and lift the lot off in one then work on it on the floor.

          I blew my G60, wasn't pretty.........

            Yeah M12 spline bro.

Exhaust is a pain in the @rse. Do like Gav says and disconnect lower down and pull off in one go.

Good luck with the rebuild, I`m here if you need any help. I`m actually gonna be helping Ibeezer with his clutch in peakhurs on Saturday, so give me a bell if you need any help / tools

it off not without sever swearing out burst and several slices up and down my arms, should have stopped drinking earlier

any way the gasket is very sad the water journal were almost toally bloked reduced to a 4mm hole and on the rear edge the material was very effected

took off the water pump , not before i removed the alternator, the ps the bracket and belt cowling to check for corrosion and build up(wasnt to bad)

so my thought s are i will just rebuild waht i have removed new thermostat new gaskets new bolts anything else??

so much crap in the bay

Check the water chanels for corrossion, weld if needed.

I always skim the head too. Saves doing the job twice.

I would dump that exhaust manifold for a euro type with a twin down pipe while its off and easy to get to or some nice headers. Never have to deal with those shty C clips too. You could gain some HP thats lost in the RV motor.

16v manifold or downpipe? The downpipe would fit meaning you just need a cast manifold to complete the job.

Unfortunately the 16V manifold is different.

I am not sure if the manifold from evorobins 8v went with the engine or not. The buyer is dropping it in a mk1 I think so wouldn't be able to use it. Could be worth a PM to Robin.
