  • Best way to attatch mk2 side skirts?

    Hey people,
I've been avoiding putting my side skirts back on my car for some time now, reason being I don't want them to sag at one end like they have in the past.

Any suggestions on how to firmly fix them to the car without the double sided tape loosing some adhesion.

I got my hands on some 3M double sided tape but I am still worried about the adhesion.

I was seriously considering drilling a hole at each end of the skirts through the pads which are double sided taped, and also through the side sills and pop riveting them on but I would then be worried about corrosion.

    Any suggestions would be great.

On the MKV I have had double sided tape fail at the rear of the skirt where there is the most flexion.

I am going to sikaflex them back on at that end and see how that goes.

Sikaflex is a good option I can't believe I didn't even consider it.

The standard fittings for the sideskirts is always the best. Do you have all the clips that the std skirt clips on to? It just takes time to line everything up

I still cant work out how you are suposta take the side skirts off without braking the clips, let alone put them back on.
