Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

    Hey guys,

The gti got side swiped by a ford today. I have some pics of the damage but the whole left hand side skirts were ripped off and the metal behind bend inwards. Can you guys let me know if there is any chances of getting it fixed and where i could get a new or used comeplete side skirt and front left arch from? CHeers, Stefan

Yeah it can be fixed mate, youll probly need a new panel though. Its seal or sill or something i think.

You need to either panelbeat the sill out and then find a new sideskirt to cover it, or get a sill cut out of another car.

I may have sections soon from my rear ended Mk2.

Thanks for the reply guys. Went to a panelbeater yesterday to get it checked for structual damage and none was found which was a relief! They will send me a quote to get it beaten out tomorow... Golf Loon, Could you send me a PM with a approx price that you would look for the sill from your golf? You wouldnt happen to have a sideskirt and a front left arch would you?

        Thanks, Stefan
