Problem is Steve its a bad time to try and sell a car...its only worth what people want to pay and at the moment it seems like the waletts are tight!

Personally i wouldnt pay more that 5k for a nice mk2 GTI but others would pay more

probably won't go much over 5K, no matter how much you spend on it,. (repairs, not mods)

You'll need to do alot of those things for roadworthy, but the gearbox maybe can wait,. Alot of those things are pretty DIY kinda things, even with out a workshop, but you'll still need some basic tools.

Maybe you could talk the owner down a bit, seeing as though it needs some work.

Yeah, seemed like a good idea at the time, but driving the GT around, and thinking that id have a 20 yr old car for up to 4 months i think my mind is made up quite easily.

esp with 2-3 trips up to Yarrawonga between now and the new year its a no brainer.
