      It is alive.
The broken wire on the coil wire slowed us down for a bit, but now she is roaring like a lion.
Still have to put the interior back in, bleed the brakes and wire up the lights and heater. Other than that, shes a goer
Sounds Great when on song, cant wait to drive it. More soon.

Upgraded the fronts from the Mk2 solid rotors to big meaty Mk3 vented disks and pads. If thats not enough, could always go cupra 280mm, but thats overkill really and then I will need bigger wheels.

Suspension is newish Bilstein shocks and standard springs. Not too worried about that at the mo, can always update later.

            Roadtested today. Hehehe
Dave got the first test drive and came back grinning.
I had a go with Mikinoz and it was pretty rapid. I think the speedo is a tad optomistic as the cupra has 16" wheels and this is running 14s. Either that or 100 comes up real quick

Put the interior back in and did the headlight wiring. Just the heater and a few other bits to sort out, then rego.

I was just searching for this thread to add in that it was heaps of fun to go around the block in this car this afternoon. Grinning was easy to achieve.

I'd say it is 20% optimistic on the speedo.

It is really strange being in a car that handles relatively softly with so much power. And the fact that it is no louder than a 1.6 is hilarious. No one will ever pick it at the traffic lights.

You need the heater working in this weather?

                    Final Modification for the Mk2

So we have had this car regod and driving around for a couple of weeks now and have ironed out all the bugs and made it great.

Then I lent it to my mate today to goto the shops and this hapenned on the way back.

Obviously it was not his fault, he stopped for a fire truck and the Truck behind did not!

He had kids in the car and his wife and they were all unhurt.

Car is fookd none of the doors open, roof is kinked, drivers seat is bent and the radio came out of the dash, hit the drivers elbow and ended up in the back!!

Its the only car I own that isnt comprehensively insured, typical.

I now have to deal with the other drivers insurance company and hopefully get some money and the salvage!

                    So dissapointed right now.

You'll be able to salvage the engine, right?

It was a truck behind him, even slow speed could caused this kind of damage. Luckily his family was alright. Sorry to see this Matt, you have your next project
