Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

ahh mate its really the injector pump that will limit your top end, if you fit the t3 you'll end up with something very slow.

check out www.vwdiesel.net and the FAQ section, should be a help to getting you clued up to make more power

Thanks! Will look it up now. Good news! It went over the pits and passed. The Tdi engine number aroused a bit of questioning though!! Smile nicely and agree seemed to work. Look out for the diesel smoke haze over Adelaide as the pump was opened up within minuits of leaving the pits!

Hey Simon, Nigel and I are chuffed to hear it passed. His advice of keeping quiet obviously worked then.

Hope to see you smoking around town soon.

Certainly will. We plan to bring the GTD and Vr6 down to the Glenelg meet. From the pictures I've seen it's a good day. As for Regency... yeah, the 'keep quiet' policy worked. Thought I'd been rumbled on the ID check though.. they found the '1z' engine number which was not the one on the old log book.. it's now on the system as a 1.6 but with a tdi... Work that one out! Havin got used to my partners Vr6, I'm on the hunt for power steering! Rack and pump from a Gti needed!!
