  • Stupid Mechanics!!!

recently i got my mk2 serviced a workshop, because i couldnt be stuffed doing it my self.... i asked for the basics oil change, filter, gasket and just a quick check over the car. the dumb ass calls me back 2hrs later, your car is ready mate.....so i went to pick it up. he explained to me that he couldnt get a rocker cover gasket in for at least a week *bull***** so he nipped up all the nuts to stop the leak, the car didnt stop leaking from the rocker cover, in fact it got worse. so i decided to run down to unique auto parts yesterday , got my self a gasket so i could slap it on, only to find that the mechanic had done more than just nip up the nuts. he tightend em to the **** house. he even broke the bolt on one of them tham comed out of the block, so the nut and the bolt spin..... to cover that up he had 2 nuts on top of it to hold it down...? wtf, also a bolt is now missing from my timing cover, should i get this guy to fix what he created???

    definately

ask him to fix it, if he doesn't get someone else to who is registered mechanic to fix it and send him an invoice, personally I wouldn't let him touch it again, cause he ain't too bright

That's the joy of working on older cars; you never know what is beneath....

As for sending him a bill for fixing it:

It could be hard to prove that all the bolts and nuts were in serviceable condition.
