damn annoying resonating near the manifold it only happens sometimes but its often almost like the heatshield is loose anyone know what it is? im 99% its the manfold somewhere as it squeaks when i change gears too, which i understand is the coupling ?

havnt had this problem with my "goofs" but i did have that problem with my old MR2....was only at certain revs....it was the heat sheild on the manifold so i took it off, bolts were rusted and one had snapped off.
best option is jack her up on stands n get under it and have a bang around see what vibrates..

I've had troubles like this before and it wasn't the heat sheild for me, but the cam belt cover....
just an idea.

I did have this problem. It was the heat shield, and I got it removed, repaired and replaced. Much, much better. I would get it put back on. It was put on for a reason...Euro look 2... Mk2 love!Comment

Well there's suddenly a can full of bolts rattling around in mine too. I'm guessing the catalytic converter has collapsed internally.Comment
