I have turbo's on my mk2 and mk1 and with fuel flow tested under full power dyno runs i didn't need to upgrade to a larger than standard pump as the k-jet pump flows enough for my setups, though i dont know how much horsepower its limit is.... If your doing a big horsepower engine and need to upgrade your pump to the 040, im sure it can be modified to suit.

I reckon you should change the main pump under the car for a brand new kjet pump.
The lift pump in the tank doesnt do much and should be adequate for your needs.

You get the hose that comes from the tank and connect the kjet pump inline to the line that goes to the engine.
Remove the whole digipants pump and accumulator and sell it to someone doing a 2L efi conversion into a Golf1.
I have the Scirocco lift pump and a kjet inline pump in the rocco and it works fine.
