  • er water barriers - who hates them on a mk2 - erm me

    wish me luck im doing my vapor barriers today - I hate these things I am seriously considering carrying a tarpaulin around for when i park haha.

          can window seals still be purchased from vw for the mk2 ? my rear ones have shrunk about 25mm lol lucky my vapour seals are still intacted.

            Yeah my window seals are pretty average too, wonder how much they are to replace...?

              I doubt VW will be much help. Try http://stores.shop.ebay.com.au/Mk1-Autohaus or http://www.germanautoparts.com/Volkswagen or some members on here may be able to help (e.g. Loon).

                gota redo the vapour barriers in my front doors. took em out when i put the dynamat in.

                got big gaps in my window seals too, bout an inch on three of the doors. there must be something we can use to cover the gap, thin bit of metal or something..? might have a look in the shops.

                  Know where to get the window seals (the channel bits for an early 2 door ie: 1/4 light window)? Mine are shot and when power washed, water comes in between the window/seal area.

                    ill wrap that jacket around your neck you **** cheese piss of and leave this forum to enthusiasts. second thoughts can your jacket fit a mk2 maybe i can fit it on my doors

                      Hey guys,

                      My window seals were done too, way too short and they let heaps of water in. I got mine brand new from germany, original VW part for $50 with postage, thats for both rear windows... Let me know if you need any part and i will ask my mate in germany...
