Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

  • What Plugs in KR 16v Engine?

What spark plugs are you guys running in your 16v engines? Particularly KR

As this is a non Aussie delivered engine, parts supplier in Oz are typically useless

I have taken the following different plugs out of KR Motors

    Bosch : F6DTC
    Champion : RC8VTYC4
    BERU : BPR6ES
    NGK : BCP6ET
    NGK : BKR5EKUP

It probably doesnt matter that much, but just wondered what you lot are running.

I know the ones recommended for the ABA 2L engines are different. According to Repco, those ones are a marine plug.

F6DTC and BCP6ET are the most commonly used ones.

Bosch F6DTC. Just bought some of these as they were half the price of NGK.

We probably just made the decision harder because everyone's running something different

I couldn't get anything at repco, but I went to VW as a long shot, and they had some right there and then... NGK i believe...But i think they are 6's...
