Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Yeah should be backlit, I bet one of the bulbs has blown in the clocks.

It is supposed to read --- below 50. If it is swinging all over check the wiring, the green/black one at the fliter mount. It could be shorting to earth??

When you have an airleak, the MPG reading climbs up to 99.9, as it monitors vacuum to give it's estimate, when there is no vacuum it assumes you are using no petrol(if only!)

It could be a bad earth, the one for the clocks is a brown and white on the back right hand cam cover nut. IIRC.

The vacuum hose has a habit of falling off the back of the MFA.

This is true but the reading goes high not low.
