Bought a couple of new heater cores. Two boxes packed and sealed by VW. As well as the heater core each contains one of these. I didn't see anything like it when I pulled the old HC out.
Anyone know what to do with it?
Im not exactly sure but I do remember a recall kit for all Australian MK2's about the heater core hose/bypass or something like that. I never had mine fitted either so I dont know what it may look like. Someone who has had it done may know
I had one with a new heater core that I got for my Syncro Passat. IIRC it is to connect a drain pipe. You only have them with Aircon. Thing is your car already has one and unless you bust it somehow you shouldn't need it.
I think thats for the vacuum hose that goes through the firewall between the two heater hoses. Notorious for breaking, makes sense to give you one with the heater kit, as you will probably break the old one.
