Im looking for wheels for my 1991 mk2, what is the wheel size and pattern i need? im looking for 17"..

4x100, 57.1 center bore. I'd say a bit hard to find a 17" unless you convert to 5 stud.

Plenty of 17's available, but they're all honda & nissan kinda wheels which you should generally stay away from, most are rank, but there are a few good uns out there.

How wide do you want them to be?

If its 7" or wider you shouldn't go over et30-35.

I'm running 15x7 in ET25 and they're fine. Depends on how low your car is as to whether they're gonna rub on the guards.
Personally i reckon 16" is as big as you should go on a mk2, unless you DUMP the suspension! Otherwise it'll look like a tractor!

16s or wide 15s. 8" wide is a good width all round.. (if you have power steering)

for completely flush with guards, you'd want et 25 at the front (with stock gti plastic arches) and et 15 on the rear.

with g60 arches lower the et by 5-10 depending on how phat you want your rears. rayray's wheels are a good example of this..

if you want a stock-ish look 15x7 et 25 all round is a good choice
