      Hey Benny,

I am pretty sure the hazz switch of the mk3 is larger than that of the mk2. I will be getting a complete stalk off matt so that should cover my hazz switch problem

      Cheers, Stef

Switches are not the same. Mk3 one is bigger.

This saves me making up another thread... Does anybody know who makes dashmats for the mk2? I had a look at supercheap and autobarn, the only have ones for the mk1 anbd mk4...would the one from the mk1 fit ok?

          Thanks, Stef
I have purchased 3 dashmats for different cars from these guys and the service and quality is excellent. Try this link, email them with the make and model and they will have it made up to suit the vehicle.

                Hey guys,

Got the car back to tassie at last after driving through melbourne cbd in peak hour traffic and having a really short nite on the ferry Loving the GTi so much, got home and gave her a wash with a polish and clean-up. Will post pics up later on today for yous Now i have a few q's... firstly, the horn doesnt work... Do i need to transfer anything from the original to the new one? Then does anybody what size the big nut is that holds the wheel on the shaft? I tried measuting but cant get accurate readings... Last but least... How long till i have to register the car in tassie as its still got the vic plates Any help would be fantastic

you mean axle nut im guessing??? 30mm. (std)
Car has to have plates changed in 1 month. Or just drive till ...(a) vic reg runs out....(b) the cops pull you over and ask why it has VIC plates. Just tell 'em you didnt know how long u had till it needed to be changed over.
