  • Progression Sesision - Mk2 GTI Style..

So as some of you may know I bought the Mk2 GTI Golfer (Jon) had up for sale about 8 Months ago now. Its been an interesting ride with the little darlin.

Have not had much trouble with it except for replacing the front engine mount bracket, and getting it to look fairly decent. For a 23yr old car with an engine swap its been magic...

It was an interesting little thing when I picked it up. Quite scared of the ground You could of almost put 4wd tyres on the damn thing. I Drove it back 900km on the day I picked it up, and man did it fly.

Got it home and instantly had to bang some coilovers in there. I also had to get some BBS rims on it asap. So as it sorted itself out it started to look more like the car I was dreaming about.

Its come along way since when it first started out. I got some Big bumpers and New GTI seats of GolfLoon.. Thanks Matt, your a true legend mate. Seriously anyone need any parts for their dub, i'm sure Matt has it or can get it for you.. Hooked up the full set of G60 Flares and side skirts through work too...

So here are some progress shots of my Mk2 GTI. Its coming along nice. Should get the bumpers back next week all painted. Next thing i'm hoping for is a full retrim. Hood lining and all. So if you guys have any ideas i'm open to suggestion. My first one was to get some Mk5 GTI Interlagos Trim and re-upholster the OG seats etc.. We send cars to the leather shop and i can get my hands on the old GTI material....

Hope ya'll like.. Was hoping to keep this a secret till Nationals this year, but I can't help my-self..

So as it Began for Jon, It was good, a great base to start with..

The the weekend I got it, coilovers and my BBS RS..

Looks awesome mate!!!! Whats the width/offset of those rims? Next question...where did you get them? haha

go old school on the trim I reckon...even if you can get a close match on an old recaro pattern or something? Ive always liked the look of the Recaro Trophys that the americans got in Jettas i think?

well now, that just looks awsome! however personal opinion of course would be no arches but since you have them u REALLY need to widen them bbs's to fill the arches
