Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    need mk2 gti gearbox

    hello, need mk2 gearbox, anyone know where from?
    i wanted to get one from germany but it will take me too long so i want to find one here in australia.
    anyone know any wreckers or personal sellers? please let me know

          well i called brookvale and they have one but want 900 for it, a bit too much, i got offered an engine with a gearbox for 1100.
          at the moment i do have a family in germany who are selling me a massive parcel with mk2 spares and parts so i might have a quick look at some parts i need for my gearbox and see if i can get some airmailed to me.
          but im gonna keep an eye out for some more gearboxes. if anyone wants some spare parts from germany for a golf or anything really i might be able to help out.
